AlgaEnergy opens its subsidiaries in the United States and India
14 March, 2019The biotechnology company is boosting its international expansion plans with the opening of new subsidiaries in the North America and India.
Following the opening of its subsidiary in Japan, AlgaEnergy is moving rapidly forward with its internationalization phase by opening offices in the United States and in India. AlgaEnergy N.A., Inc. has been established in the US to direct operations in North America, and MicroAlgae Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. has been organized in India to oversee AlgaEnergy’s growth in India and Southeast Asia.
“We are very pleased to announce the establishment of our business operations in North America and India & Asia as a first step in our international development” said Ry Wagner, Ph.D., President of International Agribusiness for AlgaEnergy S.A. “AlgaEnergy has been recruiting world-class leaders for these business regions as well as working to expand our business operations and leadership in other key regions of the world as we continue with our plans for a global business presence with our best-in-class microalgae-based biological products. As we work to establish strong partnership in these markets and onboard our senior leadership, I anticipate that we will make excellent progress toward our global business goals for 2019 and beyond”, Wagner continued.
With the support of the exceptionally strong team within the operations in Spain, AlgaEnergy will be opening additional subsidiary offices in a number of other countries in the near future and continuing to recruit world-class leaders according to the company’s internationalization plan “Project Victoria”.

Following an extensive restructuring, AlgaEnergy is proud to partner with DE SANGOSSE Group through a soon to be finalized deal that will enable a concentrated focus on its agricultural markets. Previous business verticals including cosmetics, bioenergy, aquaculture and nutraceuticals will be discontinued, allowing a single-minded focus on solutions for agricultural markets, specifically agribiological inputs (biostimulants, biofertilizers and biocontrol).

On November 16th, 2022 open voting for the Board of Directors of the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC) took place, resulting in the election of AlgaEnergy’s Managing Director – Carlos Rodríguez-Villa as Vice President of the board – with 95 percent of the participatory vote.
