AlgaEnergy adds Country Manager to lead AgriBusiness in Japan

AlgaEnergy, a global leader in microalgae biotechnology, announced the addition of Hideki Ando as Japan Country Manager for agribusiness. Hideki will lead market expansion in Japan.
Hideki has extensive experience in agribusiness in Japan and led business expansion at several innovative international companies as Japan country manager in recent years. He previously was sales director of BASF Agro, Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of BASF, where he was responsible for large sales organizations and P&L for business units, including crop protection and specialty products.
Earlier in his career he held senior roles at Japan Tobacco, including deputy general manager of its Agribusiness Division and vice president of JT Biotech USA in ag-biotechnology arena in San Diego, California.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy/Entomology from Kyoto Prefectural University.
AlgaEnergy N.A. Inc. is the U.S.-based subsidiary of Spain-based AlgaEnergy S.A. that manages AlgaEnergy’s international agribusinesses. It has already established business units in major agricultural markets, including Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Asia-Pacific.

Following an extensive restructuring, AlgaEnergy is proud to partner with DE SANGOSSE Group through a soon to be finalized deal that will enable a concentrated focus on its agricultural markets. Previous business verticals including cosmetics, bioenergy, aquaculture and nutraceuticals will be discontinued, allowing a single-minded focus on solutions for agricultural markets, specifically agribiological inputs (biostimulants, biofertilizers and biocontrol).
