Augusto Rodríguez-Villa, President of the biotechnology company, was invited to participate in the round table on leadership that was held within the framework of this event, which is a benchmark in impact economy.
AlgaEnergy, world leader in microalgae biotechnology, was invited to actively participate in B Good Day 2022. Organized by B Corp Spain, this event is one of the benchmark events in impact economy in our country, which already has 6 editions and this year it was held on the 26th and 27th of May in Madrid.
Augusto Rodríguez-Villa, President of AlgaEnergy, participated in the round table 'Leaders for the new economy'. Moderated by Ángel Pérez Agenjo, founding partner of Transcendent, where Rodríguez-Villa shared a table with María Ángeles León López, President and CEO of the Open Value Foundation, and Isabel Garro, Global Sustainability Leadership Manager at ACCIONA. The plenary session, which took place on the 27th of May, addressed issues such as which leaders have come to transform the world, or how leaders are capable of transforming the world.
Regarding the participation in the B Good Day, Rodríguez-Villa has pointed out that “having been one of the companies chosen to participate in this event -among the more than 100 B Corp companies that exist in Spain- was an honour. It was a great satisfaction to explain, in this unique forum, what we do, how we do it and, above all, why we do it”. Rodríguez-Villa contributed his vision of leadership in the current business environment and pointed out that “the leader has not changed, what has changed is the way of relating to the team. In this sense, at AlgaEnergy we love to share the successes with the members of our team and make them feel proud to be part of the company".
A good example of the success of this annual meeting of the B Corp Movement is that the organization confirmed the full capacity of the room for this session -more than 350 attendees- and that many media outlets such as 'La Vanguardia', 'Expansión' or 'El Mundo' have echoed its celebration.
In 2021, AlgaEnergy became the first Spanish biotechnology company to obtain B Corp certification -as well as being the first microalgae biotechnology company in the world-, after having demonstrated during a long and in-depth audit process that its activity generates a positive impact on society and on the planet. B Corp is an international movement that recognizes the best companies for the world, for their good practices throughout the value chain, and because they meet the highest standards of social, environmental, transparency and responsibility performance.
