Great success of AlgaEnergy at Agroexpo 2018
08 February, 2018The leading biotechnology-based company specialized in the field of microalgae has participated in the XXX edition of Agroexpo, which took place between the 24th and the 27th of January in Don Benito, Badajoz. In this international trade fair, which received more than 70,000 visitors, the company presented AgriAlgae® Premium, its agricultural biostimulants based on microalgae targeting specific crop needs. This innovative product range received the “Award for Business Innovation” granted by the organization of the event.
AlgaEnergy has participated for the first time at Agroexpo, one of the most relevant fairs in the agricultural sector that took place recently in Don Benito, Badajoz. In this optimal scenario, the company presented its value proposition for a more sustainable agriculture, based on an innovative and effective solution: the range of agricultural biostimulants based on microalgae, AgriAlgae®.
AlgaEnergy participated with a stand in which the technology and the R&D projects that the company leads were highlighted. These technological advances allow AlgaEnergy to obtain an innovative range of biostimulants, which are generating great interest in the market. More than 70,000 visitors, according to the organization's data, could discover the remarkable benefits of using AgriAlgae® in their crops, such as olive trees, tomatoes, maize, stone fruits or rice, which are some of the most important crops in the region of Extremadura.
Business Innovation Award
The success of this first participation is not only confirmed by the number of visitors received at the stand, as well as by the great impact on media, but also through the grant of the "Business Innovation Award" by a Jury of experts. The award was collected by Carlos Rodríguez-Villa and Carmela Pérez, General Manager and Business Development Manager of AlgaEnergy, respectively, and handed by Mr. Guillermo Fernández Vara, President of Extremadura.
Carlos Rodríguez-Villa highlighted that "this award is yet another example that shows the potential of our innovative products, and the market acceptance to them. Participating in these kind of trade fairs allows us to reach the farmers in order to get first hand feedback, as well as to introduce to them our range of microalgae based biostimulants which, thanks to their proven benefits -increasing crops’ yields, optimizing qualitative traits of fruits and reinforcing abiotic stress resistance-, help producers to increase the profitability of their farms. Our first participation in Agroexpo has been indeed very successful", added Rodríguez-Villa.

Following an extensive restructuring, AlgaEnergy is proud to partner with DE SANGOSSE Group through a soon to be finalized deal that will enable a concentrated focus on its agricultural markets. Previous business verticals including cosmetics, bioenergy, aquaculture and nutraceuticals will be discontinued, allowing a single-minded focus on solutions for agricultural markets, specifically agribiological inputs (biostimulants, biofertilizers and biocontrol).
