The Secretary of State showcased the technology developed by the company, that consolidates over 4 decades of state of the art knowledge related to this field and carried out in the main Spanish universities. In this sense, she pointed out that, as in any field of science, public-private collaboration is key for the development of the sector in particular, and of society and the country in general.
Augusto Rodríguez-Villa, AlgaEnergy’s President, said that "welcoming Mrs. Carmen Vela at our facilities has been a pleasure for us, while it also confirms the interest that our activities generate amongst not only the most important players, but also the authorities in the field of the innovation".
This is not the first time that Mrs. Carmen Vela meets AlgaEnergy, since she already was in charge of handing the "Award for Biotechnology Research and Innovation" to the company, granted by the organization of the event Expoquimia 2017. AlgaEnergy was awarded for its agricultural biostimulant based on microalgae AgriAlgae®. The jury decided to reward an innovative research intense product which is obtaining excellent results since its market launch. In fact, AgriAlgae® is a good example of microalgae valorization, and how a considerable effort in R&D has culminated in a great added value product that is providing efficient and innovative solutions to the market.
